My first meditation of the day is whilst walking my dog Ozzie. I know what your thinking  “how can you walk and meditate!”.

A Walking Meditation can be done any time your out and about, simply by bringing your attention to your breathe and being aware of your surrounds. Let go of any thoughts or worries you may have, if they come in to your mind simply acknowledge them and let them go. Forget the shopping list or what your having for tea. Simply be in this moment, free from fear or worry.

Be aware of the sounds around you, the birds singing, insects buzzing, cars going past, accept the sounds and let them go.

Take in your surrounding, either countryside or around town and accept what you see without judgement. Even a dilapidated house has a story to tell. Look at the cobwebs and how beautifully formed they are. If your near water notice the way the sun dances on the surface or how the petals form a flower. Beauty is all around us we just need to take a minute to notice it.

Be aware of your  breathe as you breath in and out deeply expelling any stagnant air from your lungs. If your mind starts to wonder just bring your awareness back to the breathe.

This is a wonderful way to start your day feeling calm at peaceful.

Namaste
